Message to WVSDB Staff:
There will be NO bus transportation on Sunday, January 5, 2025, and NO school on Monday, January 6, 2025. Decisions regarding the rest of the week will be announced on Monday afternoon.
261-day employees are REQUIRED to report as usual OR use leave.
All other staff will be paid their scheduled hours for the school closures.

Parents/guardians who have already created a Rooms account will soon be able to access new app features like chat and class streams via web and in the app. If you haven't joined Rooms yet, be on the lookout for a text message and/or email inviting you with steps to create your account. Our elementary students got into the holiday spirit with a magical Polar Express Day! 🚂✨
They kicked off the celebration with a special reading of The Polar Express, beautifully interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) by WVSDB parent Christina Payne. 🤟
Dressed in their coziest pajamas, students enjoyed hot chocolate, tasty snacks, and a special viewing of The Polar Express movie. ☕🍿

This past weekend, our students proudly represented the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB) in the Romney Christmas Parade, spreading holiday cheer with a beautifully crafted float! A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring the vision to life; your hard work made it a spectacular success! ❄️
The festive spirit continued at our Deaf Social, where students and community members came together for an evening full of fun and connection. With games, crafts, and plenty of fun, it was a heartwarming celebration of community. 🤟

Our WVSDB Girls Goalball Team returned from the National High School Goalball Championship in St. Augustine, FL with a well-deserved 2nd place finish! 🎉
They competed against top teams from across the U.S. and Canada, showcasing incredible talent and teamwork!
A special shoutout to Audrey Mattingly for earning an All-American Award for her outstanding performance on the court! 🌟
