Adventure at Camp Potomac! 🏕️🌲

At Camp Potomac, our Boy Scouts put their training into action. Scouts set up camp, prepared meals over the fire, and practiced important outdoor skills while supporting one another as a team.

A strong weekend of learning and leadership! ⭐

This is Community. This is Impact. 🤟

Our May Deaf Social was an incredible success, but more than that, it was a celebration of COMMUNITY!

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was seeing American Sign Language (ASL) used across ALL skill levels, from new learners to experienced signers; everyone was encouraged, included, and supported. ✨

Huge appreciation for:
💙 WVSDB Outreach
💙 WVSDB CAP
💙 WV Hands & Voices
💙 WV Deaf Service Center

And a heartfelt thank you to special guest Paul See, President of the West Virginia Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WVCDHH), for attending and showing support!

This is what community looks like, and we’re just getting started! 🚀

Did you know the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB) is more than just a campus in Romney, WV? We serve students across the entire state. ⛰️

➡️The WVSDB Outreach Program provides direct support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) and Blind/Low Vision (VI) students in all 55 counties of West Virginia.

Our VI Coordinator was recently in McDowell County and was working with a pre-K student who is learning to recognize and “feel” his name in Braille using Braille Brick LEGO activities. 🧱

This is what our Outreach is all about: bringing hands-on, meaningful instruction to students and partnering with educators and families every step of the way.

WVSDB proudly serves students, educators, and families across West Virginia! 💙
