Students from The West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind are preparing for the holiday season. ❄ Our Elementary students combined Math with decorating for Christmas last week. 🎁 Ms. Biddle's class measured the area outside the elementary wing of the Sevigny Building to determine the placement of holiday pathway markers. The students were assisted by Ms. Cassie's class in putting out the decorations. Students worked to ensure that the final design was symmetrical. 🎄

They spent the last year making personalized quilts for our residential students. Students from The West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind visited Timbrook KIA and learned how to shop and buy a car! 🚗 The vehicle of interest by one of the students was a Kia Soul. The financial algebra class has been learning how to purchase a vehicle using a loan option in the classroom. 💰 They connected the classroom work with the real-world situation. Stephanie Banik from the Cacapon Institute returned to teach the students about the importance of watersheds. 💧 Ms. Banik wrapped up her presentation with a special painting project for Ms. Park's and Ms. Biddle's classes. The students painted a mural that depicts what an area looks like when a watershed is not cared for vs one when we do care for our watershed. 🎨 As a bonus, the students met with Mayor Keadle to explain their work and presented it to her as a gift. In one photo, the mural is hanging in the Mayor's office! 🤩
