What a busy week so far, and it's ONLY Tuesday!
Yesterday our campers auditioned for a role in The Secret Garden! After auditions, the cast began to learn their lines and rehearse the songs. 🤫🌼
Between rehearsals, campers have been busy with activities and making crafts. Today they made flipbooks!
We can't wait to see all their hard work pay off this week! 🤩

Residential campers created puppets of their own designs and worked on character crests to help with their costume making tomorrow. Teamwork and creativity were the focuses of the evening. #SummerExperiences2023 #Let'sBeCreative

Week 2 of our Summer Experience series is off to a great start! Today our campers enjoyed a performance by Sunshine 2.0! ☀️

The Country Roads' campers found opportunities to use water to keep cool during the hot summer evenings. Friends were splashing in the lake and dumping icy water in the bucket challenge as fast ways to cool off while laughing at the end of a memorable week. #SummerExperiences2023 #MakingMemories.

Wow! What a great week! 👏
To say we are proud of our Country Roads Brunch Theater campers this week would be an understatement! They did an amazing job preparing the food for the brunch and performing for spectators! We loved seeing each camper shine today! 🌟
We would also like to take the time to thank Mr. Haza, Mr. Olden, and the rest of the teachers and aides who helped out this week! You guys are rock stars! ❤️
We hope to see new and familiar faces next week as we continue to week two of our Summer Camp Experience! ☀️

Our Summer Experience campers have been busy learning about the state of West Virginia through various WV-themed crafts and activities. 🎨
Campers learned about all 55 counties, as well as the state wildlife. ⛰️
Don't forget about our Country Roads Brunch Performance tomorrow, July 14th, beginning at 10 AM for families to enjoy!

The Country Roads campers attended a presentation by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources about the different fish species that live in West Virginia waterways. The West Virginia DNR biologist and fisheries officers provided the campers with opportunities to learn about the different types of fish. The campers touched the fish as well and had time to hold the small fish. All fish at the end of the presentation were released back into the river. #SummerExperiences2023 #MakingMemories #DNREducation.

The residents of the Country Roads themed summer experience continue to celebrate and share some of their favorite West Virginia past times and facts during evening programming. A scavenger hunt with residents divided into teams to find ingredients to make a favorite West Virginia snack called cornflake haystacks starts the evening. A WV focused trivia game follows with residents having to identify West Virginia landmarks and famous people. Some residents continue to work on their tie-dye T-shirts while the evening concludes with a campfire and free time to hang with new & old friends. #SummerExperiences2023 #MakingMemories.

This evening the summer experience residents are focusing on being a West Virginian while engaging in social building activities to create and strengthen friendships. The activities include make your own pizza, make a representation of one's self as a West, Virginian, swimming, and make personal tie-dyed T-shirts. #SummerExperiences2023 #MakingMemories.
