Discover WVSDB Hunter Safety Week, October 11–18, 2026, for West Virginia students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or have Low Vision, ages 10+. Includes hunter safety education, outdoor skills, and a youth hunt. Free participation with lodging, meals, and select transportation included.

This October, Discover WVSDB is bringing students together for a week of hands-on learning and unforgettable experiences.

Students can choose from two exciting opportunities:

Hunter Safety

Open to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Low Vision, ages 10 and older. Students will learn essential hunter safety practices, build practical outdoor skills, and participate in accessible, hands-on activities. Instruction is available in ASL, and the week concludes with a Youth Hunt on October 17.

Best of all, participation is FREE! Lodging and meals are included, and transportation is available from select locations.
