The West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB) Outreach team is excited to announce Hands Up, West Virginia!, a new series of engaging American Sign Language (ASL) classes designed to connect communities through accessible communication.

The first session kicks off Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM ET on Zoom, featuring Jennifer Casto, WVSDB Outreach ASL Communications Coordinator, and a special guest to be announced. Participants will gain practical insights into communicating with members of the Deaf community through live ASL demonstrations, interactive exercises, and a Q&A session.

To ensure complete accessibility, the event will include live captions and ASL/spoken English interpretation.

A highlight of the evening will be the Guest Spotlight, which will offer attendees the chance to hear firsthand experiences from members of the Deaf community and learn how ASL fosters inclusion and understanding in everyday interactions.
