Two members of the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB) Outreach team proudly represented both the school and the Outreach Program at the recent S.A.I.L. (Support, Appreciate, Invest, and Learn) Conference, hosted by the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE).
Mrs. Nora Stevenson, Statewide K-12 Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Coordinator, and Ms. Wendy Bailey, Statewide K-12 Blind/Low Vision (VI) Coordinator, shared the impactful work being done across West Virginia to support students with hearing and/or vision loss. Their participation highlighted WVSDB’s continued dedication to statewide collaboration and access to resources for all learners.
The conference provided educators from across the state with tools and strategies they can take back to their home counties, helping them better support the students they serve. It was an excellent opportunity for the WVDE to demonstrate its commitment to empowering educators with the knowledge and resources needed to ensure every student succeeds.
Throughout the event, Mrs. Stevenson and Ms. Bailey connected with teachers, specialists, and administrators, offering valuable insight into the comprehensive services offered through the WVSDB Outreach Program.
WVSDB is proud to have been represented by two passionate professionals who advocate tirelessly for the students and families we serve.
