WVSDB Camp Fusion Remote

What is Camp Fusion Remote?

Sadly, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and suspension of in-person instruction, WVSDB has cancelled the on campus summer programs for July. The continued health of students and families remain our number one concern at this time. The staff at WVSDB have developed alternative opportunities for students and families throughout the state to participate in addressing remote continuous learning through individual approaches that best meet the needs of each family, student, and local capacity. These programs will be encouraging the integration of technology, building social skills, as well as continuation of developing the elements of the Expanded Core Curriculum in a format that respects social distancing. We recognize that some of our program offerings will require access to technology and the internet. We hope that these skills are being worked on and access has been, or is being addressed, already in this new distance learning platform we are utilizing with you from the home environment. We understand that many of you do not have access to the internet, so an alternative platform will be provided to accommodate for lack of access.

Please see the program descriptions below for information about each of the two programs we will be offering. The programs will require a registration process but will not include a medical packet. The registration form will provide information to our staff that will enable them to further customize the programs and differentiate their teaching to meet the needs of the students enrolled.

Camp Fusion will be offered through two weeks of mailed materials and virtual activities in July. July 20-23 will be for grades Pre-K-5 and July 27-30 will be for grades 6-12 (grades are based on this current school year). Daily themes will include Camping/Outdoors, Robotics, Baseball, and Animals. Students will be provided with a kit of various activities, crafts, and interactive materials that you can complete independently. We will also be offering optional online experiences that will match up with the daily themes. These optional experiences will convene through Microsoft Teams.
