Services for Children K-12

 

 

 

WVSDB employs a K-12 Specialist for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students and a K-12 Specialist for Blind and Low Vision Students. These Outreach Specialists have experience teaching and mentoring teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing and teachers of the blind and low vision. K-12 Specialists provide support, technical assistance and professional development for teachers who instruct students who are B/LV or D/HH. They also coordinate transition of students from county schools to WVSDB and from WVSDB to county schools, develop and implement summer programming for teachers and students, and assist in collection and analysis of outreach outcomes data.
