West Virginia Schools For The Deaf and the Blind

Outreach

WVSD provides a comprehensive early intervention program for infants and toddlers. Services are provided by Regional Outreach Specialists who have at least a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education. These specialists work collaboratively with the West Virginia Birth to Three Program.

Children ages birth to three years receive services from a Regional Outreach Specialist as decided by the family and provider. These services can be direct or indirect, depending on the individual situations. Outreach Specialists are available to assist families through age five at IEP meetings and to serve as a resource for the child and the family. Services are provided at no cost to families as an outreach of the WV Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.
